Data protection

This website does not create user accounts, does not collect personal data for profiling purposes, and does not display advertising. Third-party features (e.g., analytics or embedded content) are only loaded after you give your consent via the cookie banner.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregated usage statistics (e.g., page views, referrers). I also use Google Search Console to view aggregated search queries that brought visitors to this site. These reports do not identify individual users.

Cookies

Cookies may be set by these third-party providers after you have given your consent. Essential site functions work without cookies.

Hosting & Logs (Website)

The site is hosted via GitHub Pages; basic access logs may be processed by GitHub in accordance with their policies.

Hosting & Logs (Apps)

The apps are hosted on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) and/or on shinyapps.io. Each time an app is executed, technical logs may be generated to ensure operation and troubleshoot errors. These logs may contain, in particular:

  • IP address (e.g., for technical provision/prevention of misuse),
  • Timestamp,
  • Metadata and statistics on uploaded file(s) (e.g., file name(s), number of waypoints read),
  • App parameters/settings (e.g., desired output format such as CSV/TSV/Excel/PDF),
  • Technical error messages/stack traces.

Uploaded GPX files are not stored permanently and are not used for any other purpose. They are used exclusively for processing within the app.

If an app is operated via shinyapps.io, the provider may also create and process its own access statistics and logs in accordance with its guidelines.
